Last February, my Dad broke his ankle while walking around the construction site of his home in North Carolina. He has an active lifestyle so I knew a few months of bed rest would be hard on him. I decided to go out there for a week in March to help him out.


Getting to these orchards before dawn meant I had to wake up around 5 in the morning. It was cold and I should have brought gloves. The orchards were pretty, with the flower petals carpeting the ground but I kept waiting to get the sense that I had definitively gotten what I wanted. I found [...]
