I love Taco Trucks. I love stopping at the one in between the studio and the train. I love going to the random one off of Hwy 101 in the middle of the night while on a road trip. I like the quick access to real food on the cheap. There’s something low class about Taco Trucks which I think is a bit undeserved. I’d rather eat most of the things I can buy for two dollars at El Ojo de Agua than what I could buy for the same at 7-11.

When the woman who served us these tostadas saw what we were up to, she was bemused to have her food photographed. As my friend Mitch and I fussed over them she made sure to point out that these tostadas were Guatemalan not Mexican.

The Menudo on the left was the blandest food I’d eaten in a long time. There’s probably a reason the spice cup was empty at our table. This probably fits into the category of things I would not eat again regardless of whether they came from 7-11 or a tamale cart.
